The Chairman's Brief: Celebrating Cobb's Custodians with David Hugg

In this episode of The Chairman's Brief, Mr. Scamihorn talks with McClure Middle School's head custodian David Hugg about what it takes to keep things clean and running smoothly in more than 100 school buildings district-wide.
Originally from Utica, New York, David and his wife have lived in Cobb since 1997. They love the area and have three children—one in college and two at Kennesaw Mountain High School—and especially like not having to shovel snow in northwest Georgia!
David has been working for Cobb Schools for 15 years, 14 of those at McClure, where he manages and oversees a team of half a dozen dedicated team members. A typical day for his team actually begins the night before. They perform top-down dusting, cleaning, and sanitizing of surfaces, furniture, and fixtures to prepare each space for the arrival of students and teachers the next morning.
So much of what Cobb's custodians do is behind the scenes and taken for granted. David helps shine some light on how much work goes into keeping Cobb classrooms and main areas safe and well-maintained.
