In this episode of The Chairman's Brief, Mr. Scamihorn talks with Principal Dean Yoder. Mr. Yoder is the founding principal at Cobb's newest school, Pearson Middle School. He previously served as principal at Fair Oaks Elementary.

Mr. Yoder was raised in central Pennsylvania and spent some time in the grocery and restaurant business before switching to education and getting his graduate degree at Kennesaw State. He moved to Cobb County in 1999 because of its high academic reputation and as the place he wanted to raise his own children.

Mr. Yoder knows well how important community is to a school. He discusses the challenges and rewards of involving the community during his time at Fair Oaks and especially as the leader of a brand-new school at Pearson.
