Community Connections Resource Fair

Summer camps, baseball, ballet, an immersible world of slime, trips to museums, and so much more await your children at the annual Cobb Schools Community Connections Resource Fair. Every year, families from across the metro come to the Cobb-hosted event to learn about extracurricular opportunities available for their students with disabilities.

The resource fair allows parents to explore more than 50 vendors that tailor fun recreational activities, experiences, and supports for students with disabilities. Whether your student is interested in horseback riding, the symphony, Taekwondo, puppets, or an underwater world of animals, the Cobb Schools event includes information and connections to them all.

The 2024 Cobb Schools Community Connections Resource Fair is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on February 8 at the district’s Cobb Innovation and Technology Academy (CITA) in Marietta. Families can make reservations to attend here

The Cobb Schools annual resource fair provides an opportunity for families to learn about the sensory-friendly and accessible options offered by Cobb and Atlanta area organizations and attractions.

Several new vendors will welcome families at this year’s event. For example, Extra Special People exists to create transformative experiences for people with disabilities and their families, changing communities for the better and offers summer camps, recreation, and family events. Families can also access summer camps through Great Prospects, which provides meaningful connections for individuals with disabilities through continued educational enrichment, social interaction, and challenging recreational programs. Students can immerse themselves in a transformative world of touch, sound, scent, and sight at the SlooMoo Institute, which includes accessibility options and sensory-friendly hours for guests with sensory processing differences. Families who attend the fair will also be able to learn about how The STEAM Generation brings hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art Integration, and Math (STEAM) to kids ages 4-18 in a fun and challenging way through classes, camps, competitions, parties, and field trips. Representatives from Mercedes-Benz Stadium will also be available to explain the stadium’s sensory and accessibility options for students with disabilities.
