Floyd Middle School

This school year, Floyd Middle School launched a new family-centered program to support the school’s current Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiative while paying tribute to the school’s dedicated staff.

The School House system is a way to promote family, belonging, and fun competition at school. Every student at Floyd has been assigned to one of the six houses at Floyd.

During a recent ceremony, Floyd's leadership announced the unique names of the school's six houses: The Hatcher House, The Witherspoon House, The Collins House, The Bearden House, The Evans House, and The Hargrett House. Floyd staff looked to people who have served Floyd Middle school over the years for their inspiration on the names of each of the houses.202208%20Floyd%20Naming%20Ceremony%2010.jpg

In honor of TJ Hatcher, the founding principal of Floyd Middle School, one of the houses was named the Hatcher House. The House of Hatcher will represent the character traits of leadership and courage. Mr. Hatcher’s son Dan Hatcher, who is also a former Floyd staff member, his daughter, and granddaughter represented the Hatcher family at the ceremony.
