They are not even in middle school yet, but a group of fifth graders at Still Elementary School are already exercising their financial skills.

A team of five student investors recently won first place in the Congressional District 14 Division of the Georgia Council on Economic Education Stock Market Game. The Still investors include Brynn, Bexley, Raelyn, Annalise, and Cordelia.

Together, the Still elementary students invested $100,000 in virtual currency and made a profit of almost $16,000 in 10 weeks.

The Stock Market Game is an exciting simulation that allows students in grades 4-12 to invest virtual currency in real stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. At the end of the game period, teams with the highest total equity are eligible for various prizes and awards.

The Still students received medals and certificates and will be honored during a luncheon at the FOX Theatre.
