FlyGirls Preparing to Launch New Missions

A fantastic program offered by STEM Cobb is the FlyGirls RPV (Remote Person View). This year, the events were sponsored by Lockheed Martin and incorporate drones in the theme; Girls With Drones.
Missions 1 & 2 began in September and were completed in early October. Missions 3 & 4 will launch in early December.
Mission 1 was a "short-film" competition, where the girls had to use drone footage to put together a 30-second "film." Mission 2 was an obstacle challenge where the girls designed and created obstacles/gates that they would need to navigate with their drone. The submissions for Missions 1 & 2 can be seen in the video below.
Upcoming missions in December will be UAV (Unmanned Ariel Vehicle) Storytelling, which is a longer form of Mission 1's "short-film." FlyGirls will be tasked with scripting, choreographing, scoring, and character development in a full multimedia production.
Another mission in December is called "Save My Stuff," where FlyGirls will be collaborating with a professional UAV pilot to inspect buildings and other structures for potential damage caused by weather, erosion, and time. Save My Stuff will test the girls piloting abilities as they often have to fly without being able to see their drone from the ground. It is one of the many ways industries around the world actually use drones.
A fifth mission will launch in 2021, UAV Ninja Warrior, where the girls will be navigating a technical obstacle course, similar to the ones that the athletes run in the popular American Ninja Warrior television show. The girls will test their flying abilities to see who can make it the farthest in the least amount of time. It will be a fun and competitive way for the FlyGirls to end their 2020-21 missions.
