Through the unprecedented challenges of the past year, the Cobb County School District has continued to earn a spot on the Forbes list of Best Employers in Georgia.

For the third year, Cobb Schools topped the list as the Best K-12 school district to work at in Georgia and the only school district in the top 25 of Best-In-State Employers.

The Forbes ranking reinforces what the Superintendent often says: “Cobb is the best place to teach, lead, and learn.” Board Chair Randy Scamihorn agrees: “We have a team of educators who love what they do, love where they work, and who work to bring out the best in their students.”

Cobb Schools ranked 22nd on the list of Best of Employers in Georgia, ahead of Georgia Pacific (28), Georgia Institute of Technology (36), Wellstar Health System (40), Aflac (45), Chick-fil-A (55), and Coca-Cola (98). The next closest K-12 school district ranked more than 25 spots below Cobb Schools. To earn a spot on the prestigious list, Cobb competed against and bested national brands that made top rankings in multiple states including IBM, Publix, Bank of America, and Nike.

Cobb Schools has ranked as one of Georgia’s best employers since 2019 when Forbes launched the award in conjunction with Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

America's Best-In-State Employers 2021 were identified in an independent survey based on a vast sample of approximately 80,000 Americans working for companies with more than 500 employees in the USA. The survey considered every aspect of an employees’ experience such as working conditions, salary, potential for growth, and diversity.

Across 25 industry sectors, 1,329 employer brands were ranked among the top employers. Brands were able to win in more than one state.

The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Employees were also asked to evaluate other employers in their respective industries and state that stood out either positively or negatively.
