The Cobb County School District (CCSD) is the second largest school system in Georgia and the 23rd largest in the nation. It serves nearly 113,000 students with 112 schools, including 67 elementary schools, 25 middle schools, 17 high schools, one charter school, one special education center and one adult education center.

Academic Success and Progress
- Cobb County schools received a score of 79.6 on the 2018 Georgia College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). This is 3.0 points higher than the state average of 76.6.
- 2018 CCSD Iowa Assessment scores topped the national average. The national average is 50%.
- The CCSD Class of 2018 posted an average score of 1107 on the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) which is 43 points higher than the state average and 39 points higher than the national average.
- More than 10,000 Cobb students took the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test). Cobb 10th and 11th graders scored higher than the national average.
- For the 13th straight year, Cobb County School District students achieved record-high scores on the ACT college entrance exam. The Class of 2018’s average score of 22.8 is 2 points higher than the national average of 20.8 and is 1.4 points higher the state average of 21.4.
- The Cobb County School District graduation rate rose to a new high of 85.2%, part of a seven year upward trend that once again surpasses the state average. The graduation rate for the class of 2018 increased by 1.6 percentage points from the previous year. The state graduation rate average is 81.6%.
Cobb County: A Thriving Metro Atlanta Community
- Located immediately northwest of Atlanta, Cobb County has a population of 755,754 making it Georgia's third most-populous county.
- 42.2% of residents 25 and older have earned bachelor’s degrees or higher.
- Cobb has a self-contained public transportation system and is trisected by three major interstates. The business and shopping districts feature the Galleria Centre and Cumberland Mall in the south, and Town Center Mall to the north.
- Established in 1834, Marietta is the hub of Cobb County and is a vibrant city with a bustling downtown square, historic neighborhoods and an extensive parks and recreation system.
- Hundreds of businesses are based in Cobb County, including Fortune 500 companies Lockheed Martin, The Home Depot and IBM.
- Cobb is home to Kennesaw State University one of the state’s fastest-growing public universities.
- With venues such as the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, two Six Flags theme parks, and Fifth Third Bank Stadium at KSU, a variety of cultural, recreational and sporting events take place in Cobb year-round. The Atlanta Braves baseball club joined the community in 2017. The new stadium is located in south Cobb County.

- 20,000+ students enrolled in visual arts elective programs: middle school art, 8th grade advanced art, high school visual arts courses including AP Drawing, AP 2D Design, AP 3D Design, and AP Art History.
- 49,000+ elementary students receive visual arts instruction.
- Participation in over 300 art exhibits and contests at the local, state, and national level

700 Cobb seniors received Fine Arts Diploma Seals in 2019. Requirements include pathway completion in music, dance, theatre, or visual arts, fine arts community service, and performance and exhibition commitments.
